Summary: The Credit Analyst I supports the evaluation, underwriting, and ongoing monitoring of commercial loan relationships. This role focuses on business customers with total exposure exceeding $1MM (inclusive of existing and proposed credit facilities). Primary responsibilities include financial statement spreading, basic credit analysis, and preparation of concise credit presentations to support sound lending decisions.

Location: The location for this position may be flexible based on where the applicant is located as well as office space availability within our Planters Bank system.

QualificationsEducation, Skills & Experience necessary and Equipment Skills: Resume required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business or related field.
0–2 years of experience in banking, finance, accounting, or credit analysis preferred.
Internship experience in commercial banking or lending is a plus.
Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
Ability to perform financial ratio calculations and trend analysis.
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Analytical thinking with willingness to learn credit fundamentals.
Equipment: Computer keyboard and software, Microsoft Office, Telephone, Ten-Key Calculator.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial spreading systems (or ability to learn quickly).
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Satisfactory Credit Bureau and Background Report.
