Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Accountant to support the Director of Finance in overseeing the organization’s global accounting operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, managing global payroll operations, and overseeing client invoicing processes. The Sr. Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining compliance, optimizing financial processes, and providing strategic insights to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Head of Finance to oversee all accounting functions and financial operations across the organization.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, reports, and internal controls.
- Oversee global payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees and contractors across multiple regions.
- Manage and optimize payroll platforms including Bitwage, Wise, Deel, and Payoneer.
- Ensure compliance with international payroll regulations, and tax requirements
- Oversee end-to-end client invoicing processes, including billing accuracy, collections, and revenue tracking.
- Develop and implement scalable invoicing and revenue recognition processes aligned with business operations.
- Manage cash flow related to payroll, vendor payments, and receivables to maintain financial stability.
- Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Operations, Sales) to align payroll, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Monitor and improve financial systems, workflows, and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide financial insights and reporting to support executive decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; MBA preferred.
- CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
- Strong experience managing global payroll and multi-entity accounting environments.
- Experience in SaaS, healthcare, or technology-driven organizations is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of General Ledger, financial close processes, and GAAP-compliant reporting
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms)
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition and billing systems
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as Bitwage, Wise, Deel, and Payoneer
- Deep understanding of international payroll operations, contractor payments, and currency management
- Familiarity with CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce
- Experience aligning billing and revenue data with sales operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to executive leadership
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and process improvement capabilities
