The Credentialing Analyst is responsible for the comprehensive coordination, analysis, and execution of practitioner credentialing and privileging activities for the Alaska Region Medical Staff. This role applies critical thinking and regulatory expertise to ensure accurate primary source verification and compliance with medical staff bylaws, organizational policies, and accreditation standards. The Credentialing Analyst evaluates practitioner data to ensure all governance thresholds and eligibility criteria are met prior to committee review, identifies discrepancies, and prepares detailed credentialing files and action summaries to support informed decision-making. This position maintains data integrity within credentialing systems, monitors timelines and reporting requirements, and serves as a subject matter resource to medical staff leadership to ensure consistent, compliant credentialing operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Or 3 years of medical staff credentialing experience, including complex privilege review will be considered.
  • Within 2 years of hire: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Or 
  • Within 2 years of hire: Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) 
  • 2 years of Medical Staff credentialing experience.
  • 2 years of experience with primary source verification, privileging review, and committee file preparation.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • MD staff experience.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position.  The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
