About the role

Lead Surge is seeking a Conversion Copywriter to join our team and write high-performing scripts for TV and video and copy for direct mail.

This role is about creating authentic, engaging copy that converts. You will work closely with the Creative Director and collaborate with the creative team to develop data-backed content that drives measurable business growth for our client.


Duties & Responsibilities

·       Breakthrough Ideation: Bring a constant stream of 'breakthrough' ideas to the table, testing new angles and hooks to stay ahead of market fatigue.

·       Broadcast and Video: Lead the development of highly persuasive, engaging scripts for TV and video spots designed to drive immediate viewer action and lead generation.

·       Print Media: Write conversion-focused print copy that aligns with client lead generation goals.

·       Quality Assurance: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high-quality, and error free work, in a deadline driven environment.

·       Client Success: Maintain an understanding of our client’s current and future needs and the KPIs we use to measure performance.

·       Workflow: Integrate AI-driven tools and emerging technologies into the copywriting workflow to accelerate the copy development process, research, ideation, and iteration.


Required Skills & Abilities

·       Experience: Minimum of three years of experience as a conversion copywriter with a strong preference for candidates in the home improvement or B2C space.

·       Results Oriented: A proven track record of creating copy that drives specific conversion actions.

·       Action Oriented: Familiarity with pitching experimental copy, new ideas, and hooks that drive real lift in response rates.

·       Collaboration Focused: Always possess strong internal and client communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

·       Technical Leverage: Proven ability to use AI as a leverage tool for research and drafting, ensuring it enhances rather than replaces core copywriting skill.

Required (and/or) preferred education and experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, English, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related field.

·       Current work experience writing conversion copy for TV, video and print

·       Demonstrated proficiency in AI-assisted writing tools and emerging creative technologies.

·       A portfolio presenting various content formats, preferably including samples from video script writing and direct mail as well as results.

 

Physical demands:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
