GENERAL FUNCTIONS

The Program Associate (PA) for South Asia is engaged on a consulting basis to provide programmatic and administrative support for one or more projects in South Asia.  The Consultant will coordinate deliverables with the Senior Program Officer for South Asia and will exercise independent professional judgment in fulfilling the obligations described

Scope of Services & Deliverables

  • Programmatic and logistics support:

o   Contribute project oversight and planning, including tracking progress towards program deliverables.

o   Prepare correspondence and reports from meetings, conferences, and discussion panels and assist with research.

o   Coordinate logistics for special events and partner meetings, including coordinating agendas and travel logistics; represent team and Internews at events as needed.

o   Draft, edit, and prepare project presentations, quarterly progress reports, proposals, and other project-related reports: write, edit, proof, revise, and assemble finished materials.

·        Operational and administrative support:

o   Ensure that documentation complies with funder requirements and Internews’ policies and procedures.

o   Prepare invoices, wire transfer requests, expense reimbursements, and payment requests, and ensure completion of monthly financial reconciliations.

o   Maintain tracking systems for grant-related administration, such as travel plans, personal service contracts, outside service contracts, and data collection systems.

·        Impact and learning:

o   Coordinate with Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) and other personnel on tracking progress towards program deliverables and assessing impact, including adherence to data collection protocols and technical review of performance data.

o   Prepare periodic writeups for donor or internal reports covering monitoring results, trends, training progress, risk analysis, and adaptations.

BACKGROUND & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Competencies
    • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to effectively manage a dynamic workload and shifting priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
    • Strong research and writing skills; editorial and/or copyediting skills preferred.
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving ability. 
    • Proven ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.

       
  • Qualifications
    • Up to two years’ relevant prior work experience, preferably working with an international NGO, think tank, or within the development, media, or human rights sectors.
    • Professional English fluency and writing skills. 
    • Ability to coordinate effectively across geographies and time zones.
       
  • Desired Qualifications
    • Monitoring and evaluation experience; familiarity with logic models and program management plans. 
    • Experience preparing expense reports and budgets.
    • Editorial or information curation experience.
