Construction Manager/Qualifying Agent

The Construction Project Manager / Qualifying Agent is responsible for overseeing multi‑state industrial construction projects and ensuring BW’s compliance with licensing requirements in applicable state(s). This role manages project planning, field execution, subcontractor performance, and vendor coordination while serving as the designated Qualifying Agent for state‑level regulatory obligations. The position operates remotely with required travel for site visits, inspections, and compliance activities.

Responsibilities

  Project & Field Management

• Oversee daily construction activities for projects in qualified state(s).
• Lead scheduling, coordination, and execution of work.
• Review drawings, scopes, and specifications; resolve field issues.
• Ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and site teams.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and progress reviews.
  

 Bidding, Contracting & Vendor Management

• Support estimating, bidding, and contract reviews.
• Approve subcontractors and specialty trades.
• Ensure vendor compliance with project requirements and state regulations.

Qualifying Agent Duties

• Maintain active involvement in ongoing projects and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure BW’s operations comply with all licensing requirements in qualified state(s).
• Complete required site visits and documentation.
• Provide required notice prior to resignation per state licensing rules.
• Avoid outside activities that conflict with Qualifying Agent obligations.

  RME Responsibilities (CSLB Compliance)

• Devote sufficient time and attention to fulfill all duties of the Responsible Managing Employee.
• Maintain active and regular involvement in ongoing projects, including availability for consultation and required site visits.
• Ensure BW’s operations comply with all applicable CSLB regulations and licensing requirements.
• Provide 90 days’ written notice prior to resignation and support transition activities to maintain license compliance.
• Engage in outside professional activities only if they do not interfere with RME duties or CSLB requirements.

Qualifications

  Required

• 7+ years of construction management experience (industrial/commercial/heavy preferred).
• Strong knowledge of construction codes and regulatory requirements in qualified state(s).
• Experience managing subcontractors and field teams.
• Ability to travel for site visits and compliance activities.
• Strong communication, organization, and technical skills.
  

  Preferred

• Prior experience as a Qualifying Agent, RME, RMO, or license holder.
• Experience in industrial or EPC environments.
• Familiarity with multi‑state licensing and compliance frameworks.
  

Work Environment

• Remote role with regular virtual collaboration.
• Travel required for project oversight, field inspections, and licensing compliance.
