About Giga

Giga is building gigawatts of AI data centers to hasten a future of intelligence and abundance. We build data centers fast and at scale by combining the capabilities of an equipment supplier, engineering firm, general contractor, and real estate developer under one roof. Our team moves quickly and thinks practically. If you're ready to make an impact in an industry that matters, we're looking for people like you.

Why join Giga

  • The Pace: We're building at a speed most companies talk about but never actually operate at. If you've been bored somewhere else, you won't be here.
  • The Impact: Every person at Giga touches the work that matters. No layers, no waiting for approval chains. You'll see your fingerprints on what we ship.
  • The Team: A team of operators defining the future of AI infrastructure. We recruit A-players from the most innovative companies in the world, and they choose Giga because the work here means more.
  • The Moment: AI doesn't run without power, and that's us. Giga is the picks and shovels behind the AI revolution. This industry is about to explode, and you'll be in the room where it's already happening.

What you’ll do

The Construction Manager will lead and oversee all pre-construction and construction activities across Giga Energy’s portfolio of data center infrastructure projects, through the full project lifecycle from pre-construction planning to final energization. This includes managing, planning, budgeting, selecting and coordinating with contractors and equipment suppliers, overseeing site execution, and ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery of high-quality work.

Where you’ll work

If based outside of our Houston or San Francisco hubs, this role will be based remotely from your home office. You must be willing to travel frequently to project sites in Texas and other geographies.

Responsibilities

Pre-Construction Planning

  • Develop and maintain the project execution plan, including construction sequencing, logistics, temporary facilities, equipment access, laydown, storage, crane operations, and contractor mobilization.
  • Support development and validation of construction budgets, cost estimates, bid packages, contractor scopes, and project schedules.
  • Review drawings, specifications, equipment requirements, and contractor proposals for completeness, constructability, scope gaps, and trade coordination issues.
  • Coordinate construction input across civil, structural, architectural, fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, controls, communications, security, and equipment-installation scopes.
  • Support contractor procurement and bid leveling in coordination with Procurement and Project Management.
  • Develop responsibility matrices, work-package boundaries, and turnover requirements to minimize scope gaps and overlaps.
  • Participate in design reviews and identify constructability, access, sequencing, safety, and installation risks before mobilization.
  • Establish reporting, change management, RFI, submittal, document-control, and field communication processes.

Construction Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the complete field construction effort across all contractors and trades with assistance from field engineers and superintendents.
  • Manage construction sequencing, site logistics, work fronts, contractor interfaces, and short-interval planning.
  • Maintain the integrated construction schedule, track actual progress, identify critical-path impacts, and implement recovery plans when milestones are at risk.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly work planning with superintendents, trade partners, Project Management, engineering, procurement, and site leadership.
  • Monitor contractor staffing, supervision, productivity, material availability, equipment, and execution against contractual commitments.
  • Lead site coordination meetings and communicate priorities, constraints, decisions, and required corrective actions.
  • Resolve field conflicts and drive RFIs, design clarifications, submittals, and technical decisions to timely closure.
  • Coordinate civil and site work, foundations and structural construction, architectural and life-safety scopes, plumbing and mechanical construction, electrical construction controls, SCADA, communications, security, monitoring, and other low-voltage systems with the applicable equipment and trade packages.
  • Coordinate heavy equipment deliveries, receival inspections, storage, rigging, crane operations, setting, preservation, and final installation.
  • Maintain visibility into procurement status and escalate long-lead equipment, material shortages, fabrication delays, and delivery risks.
  • Review contractor applications for payment, progress quantities, change requests, and supporting documentation in coordination with Project Management and Procurement.
  • Maintain site records, including daily reports, progress photographs, manpower tracking, delivery records, field decisions, and schedule updates.
  • Manage punch-list execution, contractor demobilization, record-document completion, and turnover readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in construction or energy project management; experience in utilities or modular infrastructure is preferred.
  • Proven experience managing complex contractor networks and large-scale procurement.
  • Strong understanding of permitting, utility coordination, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Procore, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

  • 401(k) with 4% employer match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Parental leave
