Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant to support a construction-focused client. This role requires hands-on bookkeeping experience within a construction environment and strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring 100% data accuracy
- Verify vendor invoices and subcontractor billings against project records prior to payment
- Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processing
- Perform accurate invoice and financial data entry
- Maintain well-organized accounting records and files
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and cost reports
- Generate financial reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements
Qualifications
- Proven bookkeeping experience in a construction environment
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online
- Advanced Excel skills for financial tracking and reporting
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Self-starter with a proactive work style and minimal need for supervision
- Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
