Position Summary

We are seeking a Configuration Management Implementation Engineer to design, configure, implement, and improve enterprise systems supporting engineering, manufacturing, quality, programs, supply chain, IT, and regulated operations. The role will translate complex business and engineering processes into scalable workflows, data structures, integrations, and configuration-management practices across ERP, PLM, QMS, document-control, asset-management, and operational platforms.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on system configuration with process engineering, implementation leadership, validation, documentation, training, and stakeholder management. Responsibilities span process discovery and requirements definition through solution design, testing, deployment, training, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and improve configuration-management processes for engineering data, products, components, equipment, specifications, drawings, bills of material, revisions, and controlled documentation.
• Manage engineering change requests and orders, approvals, release processes, effectivity dates, configuration baselines, deviations, nonconformances, CAPA, and related change-control activities.
• Lead or support full-lifecycle implementations, including process mapping, requirements gathering, solution design, system configuration, testing, validation, deployment, and stabilization.
• Translate engineering and operational requirements into workflows, business rules, relational data models, forms, reports, integrations, automation, and master-data structures.
• Configure and support ERP, PLM, QMS, document-control, manufacturing, asset-management, and supply-chain applications.
• Coordinate system integrations, data mappings, synchronization requirements, interface behavior, data migration, and exception handling.
• Ensure engineering records and system configurations support traceability, data integrity, auditability, compliance, and controlled release.
• Serve as a trusted technical and process partner to Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Programs, Supply Chain, IT, and business teams.
• Lead requirements reviews, design sessions, testing, implementation meetings, and decision forums; communicate complex concepts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Develop training materials, work instructions, SOPs, technical documentation, validation deliverables, and user-support resources.
• Support user training, post-launch troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, process optimization, performance metrics, and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to convert recurring stakeholder needs into reusable modules, templates, workflows, and platform capabilities while managing multiple workstreams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, life sciences, operations, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
• Five or more years of experience in ERP, PLM, QMS, manufacturing systems, configuration management, systems implementation, process engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting enterprise implementations from requirements definition through production deployment.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business and engineering processes into system configurations, workflows, data structures, integrations, and controls.
• Experience with process mapping, solution design, testing, UAT, validation, deployment, documentation, and user training.
• Strong knowledge of engineering change management, document control, product or equipment configuration, revision control, bills of material, and traceability.
• Experience collaborating across engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, programs, regulatory, IT, and business functions.
• Strong technical writing, organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems such as Costpoint or SAP; PLM, QMS, MES, CAD, or engineering-data platforms; and financial or operational integrations such as QuickBooks.
• Experience with engineering change requests and orders, product lifecycle management, controlled release processes, master-data governance, relational data modeling, and systems integration.
• Experience in aerospace and defense, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, regulated manufacturing, industrial operations, or other highly controlled environments.
• Knowledge of computer system validation, GAMP 5, GMP, GDP, GLP, CAPA, deviation management, and formal change control.
• Experience with statistical analysis, root-cause analysis, process optimization, and operational performance metrics.
• Lean Six Sigma, project management, technical writing, SAP, quality, or configuration-management certification.
