The specialist will provide configuration and change management expertise to maintain accurate technical information throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include identifying configuration items, maintaining records, and developing technical processes and standards.
Location: Remote; travel may be required in support of meetings, training, presentations, or briefings with project stakeholders
Required Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain the required VA background investigation/suitability determination
Certifications: Certification in one or more of the following: IAT III, IAM III or IASAE III certifications.
IAT III/ IAM III / IASAE III certifications may be substituted for a relevant Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree in IT related field (i.e. Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management).
Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years IT experience of which at least 3 years are of Configuration Management/Tech Editing experience at a large corporation or Government agency similar in size/scope to GSA, IRS, DoD or VA.
• A Master’s degree in a related IT field (i.e. Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management). may substitute for up to 2 years of the required experience
• Expertise in project management or working in a project-oriented environment, with an understanding of how configuration management fits into the overall project lifecycle
Description
PingWind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Configuration Management & Documentation Specialist/Tech Writer to join our dynamic team supporting a large Federal Government client. Provide configuration management, change management, and technical documentation expertise to maintain accurate, controlled, and traceable technical information throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
• Identify, control, record, audit, and report the status of configuration items.
• Maintain records for hardware, software, system configurations, documentation, and deliverables.
• Develop and update technical processes, configuration standards, baselines, and procedures.
• Support change-control processes and maintain associated documentation and traceability.
• Maintain and support centralized CMDB information in accordance with ITSM practices.
• Coordinate configuration management activities across technical and project teams.
• Perform documentation reviews and quality-control activities to ensure accurate technical artifacts.
Requirements
• Ability to obtain and maintain required VA background investigation/suitability and system access.
• Experience with configuration/change management and technical documentation in IT or software development environments.
• Experience with ITSM practices and centralized CMDBs.
Preferred Qualifications
• VA/Federal technical documentation experience.
• ITIL certification.
• Experience with automated configuration or compliance tracking tools
