Configuration Management Analyst

Position Summary:

Revolution Space is looking for a dynamic and growth-oriented Senior Configuration Management Analyst who will be responsible for owning the integrity of our product data and the configuration change control process as we design, build, and fly hardware. You’ll be the backbone of how engineering configuration changes flow from design to production, administering our Arena PLM system by enforcing configuration control disciplines. To ensure every team from engineering to manufacturing to quality is working from the same source of truth. 

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-obsessed, comfortable working across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and quality, and who takes pride in a clean, audit-ready bill of materials and coordinating engineering review board and configuration control board meetings.

The position is: Remote with a 25% travel requirement. 

Responsibilities:

• Own configuration control in Arena PLM; administer item masters, BOMs, revisions, lifecycle phases, and change objects (ECOs/ECRs/deviations) to ensure accuracy and traceability across product lifecycles
• Manage the document change process; process, route, and track engineering change requests/orders through review and approval, coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain stakeholders
• Maintain data integrity; audit part numbers, revisions, and BOM structures for accuracy, consistency, and completeness; resolve discrepancies before they become build or quality issues
• Support the Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings; prepare document packages, track action items, publish meeting minutes, and maintain change log.
• Enforce configuration management best practices; develop and maintain CM procedures, work instructions, and naming/numbering conventions aligned with industry standards (e.g., AS9100)
• Enable traceability; support as-designed, as-built, and as-flown configuration baselines, especially for flight and safety-critical hardware
• Partner cross functionally; train and support engineers, buyers, and production staff on Arena workflows and CM processes; act as the go-to resource for PLM questions
• Support audits; prepare configuration and change records for internal audits, customer reviews, and regulatory/compliance inspections

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in configuration management, engineering data management, or a related PLM/document control role
• Bachelors degree in engineering, technical discipline, or equivalent
• Hands-on experience administering Arena PLM with willingness to become an Arena power user quickly
• Solid understanding of configuration management principles: BOM structures, revision control, change control processes, and lifecycle management
• Familiarity with CM standards and practices
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data at scale
• Ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to hold the line on process discipline without becoming a bottleneck Describe the required experience and attributes of the ideal candidate

Preferred Qualifications

• Hardware/aerospace startup environment strongly preferred
• Experience with data migrations or system implementations (e.g., standing up or reconfiguring PLM system)
• Exposure to ERP/MRP systems and how they interfere with PLM
• Familiarity with drawing/model-based definition practices
• Prior experience in satellite, launch vehicle, or space hardware programs
