DESCRIPTION

In this role as Commercial Trainer for Protein Diagnostics, a driven individual will work closely with Commercial leadership to maximize sales representative effectiveness by determining and solving training needs, developing solutions and reinforcing strategy and processes for sales colleagues.

A day in the Life:

This Commercial Trainer will be the key facilitator of training and coaching for commercial teams ensuring the support of all processes and tools in the field, focusing on the North America commercial team. This person will regularly communicate with Sales Leadership and other key stakeholders to align sales training with organizational initiatives and business goals.

Keys to Success:

  • Work closely with global training team, North America sales, marketing and executive leadership to determine and align on sales strategy, process, implementation and reinforcement
  • Use feedback, data and analysis to improve the commercial learning and development offering and explore continuous improvement opportunities and evaluation
  • Support enablement and communication efforts across sales teams to support new product launches, system/tool/process awareness to drive execution in the field
  • Facilitate the training and adoption of CRM across the business – maximizing our potential in the market through rich insights that drive sales performance
  • Prepare sales representatives by assisting in facilitation of onboarding and all phased training; developing individual coaching plans; providing resources and assistance; scheduling and fulfilling co-travel with sales representatives
  • Continuously refine training needs by traveling with sales representatives; observing sales encounters; studying sales results reports; conferring with sales managers
  • Takes ownership of all aspects of stakeholder relationship management and attends monthly and/or quarterly reviews to drive stakeholder satisfaction and learning outcomes
  • Help to manage the logistical planning and organizing of training activities, sales meetings and of all assigned training programs (class preparation, facilitator engagement, and set up)
  • Develop individual results by maintaining policy and procedure resources; providing coaching; conducting training sessions; developing outcome improvement resources and providing directed follow-up and feedback to sales personnel and management team
  • Improve training effectiveness by developing new approaches and techniques; making support readily available; integrating support with routine job functions
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • On an annual basis, help develop and implement clearly defined AOP targets and goals to ensure alignment with current Thermo Fisher goals, strategies and priorities
  • Ensure that equality and diversity is considered in all aspects of learning and development activities
  • Complete other ad hoc assignments or reporting as needed

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • Miller Heiman certified trainer, preferred

Experience:

  • 5+ years relevant sales and sales training experience
  • Previous experience of training design with good knowledge of all aspects of the training cycle, education or coaching
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with high level of diplomacy
  • Experience with the CRM tool, Salesforce (SFDC)
  • Requirement for regular travel across North America

  • Possess thorough understanding of selling skills, sales models and demonstrate excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Need to have strong interpersonal skills, ability to "think on your feet", organized and results focused with strong presentation and facilitation presence

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams
