Commercial Lawyer (Associate)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Associate Commercial Lawyer to support clients with a broad range of commercial legal matters. The ideal candidate will have strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, advising on business transactions, and providing practical legal solutions to corporate clients. Experience working within the Australian legal framework is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a variety of commercial agreements and contracts.

• Provide legal advice on commercial transactions, business operations, and regulatory compliance matters.

• Assist clients with contract management, risk assessment, and legal strategy.

• Conduct legal research and provide practical recommendations on complex commercial issues.

• Review and advise on supplier agreements, service agreements, partnership agreements, confidentiality agreements, and other commercial documents.

• Support corporate transactions, business restructures, and commercial projects as required.

• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and external parties to facilitate commercial outcomes.

• Maintain accurate records and manage legal matters efficiently in a remote environment.

• Stay up to date with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry developments.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Law and qualification as a Lawyer, Solicitor, Barrister, or Attorney is required.

• 2–4 years of post-qualification experience in Commercial Law.

• Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements.

• Experience advising businesses on commercial, contractual, and regulatory matters.

• Prior experience working with Australian clients, law firms, or commercial matters is highly preferred.

• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Experience using legal practice management and document management systems is advantageous.

• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
