Green Zone Surveys (UK) ltd are looking to expand their established team of assessors in the we're particularly keen to speak to those based in and around South Lincolnshire, East Anglia and Peterborough way.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Energy Assessor to conduct systematic and comprehensive site surveys of all parts of the building, including HVAC systems, fixtures, fittings and elements. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and expertise in building systems, with a focus on HVAC systems. The surveyor will be responsible for collecting accurate and detailed data to support building assessments, maintenance plans, and energy efficiency initiatives.
This a fully remote, home working role, with regular contact and visits to our head office located in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Training can be required for any ABBE qualifications not held by the assessor. We will also seek for the assessor to become a Chartered Energy Manager with the Energy Institute within an agreed timeline and additional training.

About the role
Green Zone Surveys is looking to strengthen its established team with the addition of a Commercial Energy Assessor covering the South / South London region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced assessor with strong knowledge of commercial building systems and energy efficiency. Working remotely, you'll carry out detailed site surveys across a variety of commercial properties, gathering data to support energy assessments, maintenance planning and sustainability improvements.
The business is committed to ongoing development and will support further qualifications where required, including ABBE certifications and progression towards Chartered Energy Manager status through the Energy Institute.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive surveys of commercial buildings and associated systems.
- Inspect and assess HVAC systems, fixtures, fittings and building elements.
- Record and analyse data including temperature, humidity, airflow and energy usage.
- Identify defects, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare detailed reports with recommendations for maintenance, upgrades and energy-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineers, facilities teams and other stakeholders.
- Remain up to date with relevant legislation, standards and best practice.
What you will bring
- Proven experience in conducting site surveys of commercial buildings, with a focus on HVAC systems.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of building systems, including HVAC equipment, fixtures and elements.
- Familiarity with relevant tools and equipment used for site surveys, such as thermal imaging cameras, airflow meters and data loggers.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately collect and record data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify deficiencies and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to prepare detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations and energy efficiency standards is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to different locations for site surveys
