This comprehensive position centers on guiding the entire asset recovery lifecycle for our alternative commercial finance portfolios. The incumbent will assume complete ownership of accounts from initial delinquency through final resolution, maintaining a rigorous focus on financial reconciliations and cash-flow verification processes. While this capacity does not initially command direct reports, the role is strategically structured to evolve into formal team leadership as portfolio volumes expand.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In the initial 30 days demand achieving comprehensive operational familiarity with the alternative commercial finance portfolio, assessing the current landscape of non-performing files, and identifying systemic reconciliation discrepancies while autonomously implementing workflows without relying on predefined instructions. By day 60, you will command complete ownership of the asset recovery lifecycle, ensuring portfolios are managed via systematic processes, auditing milestones occur on a formalized cadence, and executive stakeholders maintain comprehensive visibility through structured performance reporting. By day 90, your efforts will significantly minimize delinquent outstanding balances through disciplined borrower engagement and structured repayment frameworks, analyze operational vulnerabilities to propose tactical optimization strategies, and serve as the definitive expert for complex account escalations, securing full managerial trust and operational autonomy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run collections for MCA accounts: Create and follow practical steps for contacting customers, arranging payments, and moving files forward.
- Reconciliations: Compare daily/weekly payments to what should have been received; find mismatches and fix them quickly with the customer and internal teams.
- Review past-due accounts: Decide next actions based on company policies and applicable rules.
- Talk with customers: Explain what’s owed, set clear plans, and keep communication professional and consistent.
- Keep clean records: Log calls, emails, payment plans, and outcomes; keep files accurate and compliant.
- Work with other teams: Partner with legal, finance, and customer service on tougher or escalated cases.
- Follow company policies: Adhere to all procedures and guidelines.
- Report on results: Prepare simple, regular updates on collections activity and outcomes for leadership.
- Manage the collections lifecycle: Oversee the entire merchant cash advance recovery flow, including debtor communication, right-party contact verification, structured payment arrangements, and file escalations.
