Job Details

The Lead Collections Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert of the collections team. They will work alongside the Collections Manager to drive and support department efficiencies. In this role, the expectation is to act as a leader, including living by example and supporting company and department goals as well as demonstrating their ability to drive results and achieve a consistent standard of work from the collections team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert of collections-related activities such as:

    • Go-to individual for any questions or issues pertaining to the collections team

    • Primary trainer for new and existing employees

    • Handling escalated calls from patients

    • Point of contact for patient assistance

    • Leadership of Collections Specialists

  • Creating, interpreting, and monitoring of Salesforce reports

  • Demonstrates superior written and verbal skills to collaborate with internal partners and resolve patient issues

  • Call patients for payments and balances

  • Establish payment plans for past due accounts

  • Process Checks/SCH/CC Payments

  • Enter patient payments

  • Set up auto payments

  • Follow up as needed using calls & letters

  • Review and complete cases

  • Resolve billing questions/errors

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

 

Experience

  • Required: Current or past experience in a high volume collections setting.

  • Highly preferred: Experience with ExactCare/AnewHealth collections processes, workflows, and procedures.

 

Skills & Abilities

  • CRM, Salesforce highly preferred

  • Phone systems, Five9 highly preferred

  • Leadership and team development

  • Conflict resolution and customer service

  • Communication skills

  • Analytical and reporting skills

  • Collections and negotiation expertise

  • Technical and process accuracy

  • Problem-solving and billing knowledge

 

Physical/Mental Demands: This position is administrative in nature and will present physical demands requisite to a position requiring: hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, talking, and walking. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.

 

Schedule: This is a full-time position with an expectation to work an average of 40 hours per week and be available outside of normal business hours to meet customer expectations on an ad-hoc basis. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

This is a remote position.
