POSITION SUMMARY:
The Coding Specialist is primarily responsible for billing, charge entry, and related coding functions within the Imaging Department.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical or healthcare setting, required
- In lieu of experience, graduate from an accredited Medical Billing/Coding program may be considered
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification and/or Radiology Certified Coder (RCC) certification, preferred
- Candidates who do not hold a CPC or RCC at the time of hire will be required to obtain certification within two (2) years of employment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong discretion and ability to handle confidential information
- Composure in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies
- Dependable, punctual, and detail‑oriented
- Strong multitasking and independent‑work capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Accurate documentation skills
- Ability to follow established workflows consistently
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM
(Once hired and consistently demonstrating the ability to code independently, with a high degree of accuracy, consideration for a transition to a remote position is possible)
