DataBank is pleased to announce a new opportunity for a remote Cloud Administrator to join our Professional Services Cloud team. Our Cloud Administrator operates and maintains DataBank's cloud environments and the customer solutions running in them. This is a run-and-operate role rather than a design role.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

Cloud operations and maintenance

  • Administer and monitor AWS environments — EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, and related services — for availability and performance.
  • Provision and configure cloud resources to established patterns, using Infrastructure as Code where available.
  • Apply patching, updates, and routine maintenance on a defined schedule with proper change control.
  • Respond to alerts and incidents, troubleshoot networking and system issues, and drive them to resolution.
  • Administer backup, recovery, and retention configurations and verify restores.

Security, access, and compliance

  • Administer identity and access management, including roles, permissions, and periodic access reviews.
  • Work with the Cloud Security team so environments continue to meet our security standards and ISO certification requirements.
  • Follow change control, InfoSec, and audit requirements, and produce evidence when requested.
  • Remediate configuration and vulnerability findings within agreed timeframes.

Cost management and reporting

  • Monitor cloud spend and identify and implement cost optimization opportunities such as rightsizing and cleanup of unused resources.
  • Maintain tagging and account hygiene so spend can be attributed accurately.
  • Report on utilization, capacity, and cost trends to the Director of Cloud.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of environments, configurations, and runbooks.

Support and collaboration

  • Provide post-deployment support for cloud solutions and assist with go-live support as needed.
  • Provide status updates to project managers on PM-run projects and to team leads on non-PM projects.
  • Cross-train teammates and share knowledge on cloud operations practices.
  • Stay current on cloud services and recommend operational improvements.

Qualifications

 

Education, Training, and Experience Desired

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience
  • Comfortable owning all aspects of OnBase administration
  • Preparation for / presently maintaining OnBase Installer Certification 
  • Experience administering enterprise environments running Microsoft Windows Server 
  • Excellent written, listening, and communication skills including interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Strong software and information technology knowledge base
  • Works well in a team environment as well as when working independently
  • Strong telephone presence and consulting skills
  • Proactively assists clients and team

Preferred

  • AWS experience with FSx, ECS, and RDS
  • Scripting in Python or PowerShell
  • Azure administration experience
  • Experience in an IT environment with change control, InfoSec, and ISO certification adherence
  • Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, Group Policy, and file share management
  • Configuration management tooling
  • Experience in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) sector
  • AWS technical certification, such as Solutions Architect Associate or SysOps Administrator
  • 2+ years of hands-on AWS administration experience
  • Experience with AWS Console, EC2, VPC, S3, and IAM
  • Working experience with Infrastructure as Code
  • Administration of networking concepts in AWS including load balancing, TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS, with network troubleshooting ability
  • Documentation experience covering environments, configurations, and runbooks

Travel

  • Up to 10% travel is required for this position
