This is a full-time position, working with the Benefits Administration and Claims Advocacy teams and reporting directly to the AVP, Benefit Administration. The position requires day to day claims advocacy for multiple clients. Claim Advocates are expected to provide excellent customer service each day, handle standard claims issues for clients and their employees and provide senior team members with assistance complex appeals as needed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between insurance providers and clients regarding employee status and eligibility for coverage
  • Resolve standard claim issues and provide assistance with complex or non-standard claim appeals
  • Verify completion and validity of claim forms
  • Review company records to determine coverage
  • Calculate amounts of claims and submit for payment
  • Ensure all client data is entered into CRM System (SalesForce) in a timely manner

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Medical, Dental, Vision Plans, and Flexible Spending Accounts required
  • Experience with Insurance Carrier self-service portals and call centers is a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Vigorous attention to detail, highly organized, with the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously

Education and/or Experience:

  • Four-year college or university degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of benefit administration or claims processing required

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • Life, Accident, and Health License a plus or willing to obtain.

The base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000.  The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
