The Center for the Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) in the School of Education and Human Development seeks an hourly or wage Data Operation Professional. This position is broadly responsible for record keeping, data maintenance, and data reporting and analysis. This individual will work closely on a project or work team. The ideal candidate will have a background in mathematics education research who can support data management and analysis.  

Knowledge and Skills

  • Background knowledge in mathematics teaching and learning (birth – age 12)
  • Data management skills (e.g., cleaning and manipulating data; data dictionary development) for quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Basic quantitative data analysis skills (multilevel, hierarchical linear modeling)
  • Qualitative data analysis skills (case study approach)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically proficiency in Word and Excel.

Hourly Rate: $23/hour, no more than 20 hours/week

Anticipated Start Date: Mid August 2026

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree or combination of education and related experience in lieu of a degree required.

Experience: 1+ years relevant experience required.

Licensure: None.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education: MA or MS in psychology or related field.

Experience: Completion of RCR (Responsible Conduct of Research) Training through the CITI Program.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Most of the work performed is in an office environment.
