The Role:
 
We are seeking an experienced Buyer-Adhesives. This person will be responsible for procurement of new products, sourcing international product, maintaining inventory levels in alignment with company goals, establishing long term successful vendor relationships, minimizing costs while maximizing quality and delivery times. 
 
They will use metrics and analytics to determine areas of weakness and strengths in purchasing, make recommendations for improvements and follow through on implementation. 
 
This is a remote position, but only candidates who can work EST. and CST. hours will be considered.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate effectively & proactively across different organizational levels to resolve issues, implement new strategies, and maintain current business.  
  • Manage and own inventory strategies throughout the entire product lifecycle for assigned Suppliers (introduction, growth, maturity & decline).  
  • Manage Supplier relationships (Compliance, Quality, SIFOT & inventory).  
  • Utilize Demand Forecasting via GAINS to maintain safety stock and minimize over/understock for all non-direct orders.  
  • Resolve all outstanding Supplier Returns and Product/Order Issues timely.  
  • Freight cost optimization.  
  • Quarterly Project Execution.  
  • New Product Sourcing.  
  • Support the New Product Set up process as needed.  
  • Follow the process & procedures outlined in the Applied Quality Management System supporting our ISO 9001:2015 certification.  
  • Assist as needed in invoice/receiving discrepancies.  
  • Product label management. 
  • Supplier file updates.  
  • Support and adhere to all safety procedures and complete all required safety training.
  • Identify and support improvement opportunities for processes to support company objectives and customer expectations.

Physical Requirements:
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Possess mechanical dexterity to perform equipment operation.
  • Frequently moves items weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
 
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate’s degree required.  
  • 5+ years purchasing experience required. 
  • Passion for solving problems. 
  • Thorough knowledge of inventory and supply chain management required.  
  • Well organized, process and data driven, logical, and resolution oriented. 
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Ability to build and manage relationships and demonstrate resilience and ability to handle difficult situations with a positive “can do” attitude. 
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly and efficiently. Proficient keyboard abilities, MS Office, Windows O/S, and MRP/ERP systems experience required.
