Job Description:

The Business Analyst & Dashboard Developer reports to the Vice President of Operations. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining dashboards, reports, and analytical tools that provide visibility into key business metrics, financial performance, operational effectiveness, utilization, sales pipeline activity, and project performance.

This position is a part-time variable position with a limited scope of employment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Dashboard Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce reporting tools, Excel, and other business intelligence platforms.
  • Create executive-level dashboards that provide visibility into revenue, profitability, utilization, backlog, sales pipeline, accounts receivable, workforce metrics, and operational performance.
  • Develop automated reporting solutions that reduce manual reporting efforts and improve data accessibility.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate and standardize reporting across practices and business functions.
  • Translate business requirements into meaningful dashboards, visualizations, and reporting solutions.

Data Analytics & Business Reporting

  • Analyze operational, financial, and workforce data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc analyses supporting strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business reviews.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights regarding organizational performance.
  • Present findings and recommendations to business leaders in a clear and actionable manner.

Systems Integration & Data Management

  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify data quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with integration, validation, and reconciliation of data between multiple systems.
  • Develop and maintain data definitions, reporting standards, and dashboard documentation.
  • Support implementation and optimization of business intelligence tools and reporting technologies.

Operational & Financial Analytics

  • Analyze project performance metrics including utilization, realization, revenue, profitability, backlog, and project health indicators.
  • Support monthly and quarterly business reviews through development of dashboards and analytical reporting.
  • Identify operational efficiencies and process improvement opportunities through data analysis.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations leadership to improve visibility into financial and operational performance.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization, reporting, and dashboard design.
  • Strong understanding of financial, operational, and business performance metrics.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Technology Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Power BI (preferred)
  • Tableau or other visualization platforms
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
  • SQL, Power Query, Power Automate, or other data management tools (preferred)

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Operations Management, Economics, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting consulting, professional services, scientific, engineering, healthcare, or project-based organizations preferred.
  • Experience working with financial, operational, workforce, and project performance data strongly preferred.
