The BIM Manager leads the implementation and governance of BIM processes to ensure consistency and collaboration across projects. They oversee model coordination, clash detection, and the enforcement of BIM standards from design through construction.
Position Summary
The BIM Manager is responsible for leading the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across projects and teams. This role ensures consistency, accuracy, and collaboration within BIM environments, supporting project delivery through effective model coordination, standards enforcement, and stakeholder alignment from design through construction and closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of BIM standards, workflows, templates, and best practices.
- Manage and coordinate BIM models across multiple disciplines, ensuring model integrity, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for BIM-related matters across projects, teams, and external partners.
- Support project teams with BIM planning, execution strategies, and model coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee clash detection, coordination meetings, and issue resolution processes.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Construction Teams to align BIM deliverables with project goals.
- Monitor model quality, data consistency, and adherence to BIM execution plans (BEPs).
- Provide training, guidance, and mentoring to BIM Coordinators, Modelers, and Designers.
- Support client requirements related to BIM deliverables, data standards, and asset information.
- Assist with 4D/5D modeling, model-based quantity take-offs, and construction sequencing when required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to BIM tools, processes, and digital transformation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience as a BIM Manager, BIM Lead, or Senior BIM Coordinator on complex projects.
- Strong understanding of BIM methodologies, coordination processes, and model-based workflows.
- Advanced proficiency in BIM and design software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and related collaboration platforms.
- Experience managing BIM execution plans (BEPs) and multidisciplinary models.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale or complex facilities (commercial, healthcare, industrial, data centers, or infrastructure).
- Familiarity with ISO 19650 or similar international BIM standards.
- Experience supporting construction-phase BIM, field coordination, and model-based delivery.
- Knowledge of data management, asset handover, and digital twin concepts.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within BIM or digital delivery teams.
