Backend .NET Developer

We're looking for a backend developer with a strong .NET background to join our international eCommerce team, building composable, API-first solutions for international clients.

We’ll be conducting our interviews in English, so we need someone with a great command of the language (both spoken and written). Does that sound like you? Then let’s talk!

About the role

You will be part of our e-commerce solutions department, a team of 40+ backend and frontend developers, QA engineers, and Project Managers working with large Danish and international clients.

The role is remote. We're looking for someone based in Barcelona — not because you have to come in, but because you can. We have an office in the city, and you're welcome to work from there whenever it suits you. We also meet up as a team from time to time.

You'll also work closely with Novicell's core engineering team in Denmark, joining cross-border squads delivering international e-commerce and digital transformation projects across the Novicell group.

Your day-to-day at Novicell

• Develop backend solutions on .NET and Azure (Functions, Service Bus, API Gateway, App Services)

• Build integrations between ERP, PIM, WMS, OMS, and DAM systems and composable commerce platforms

• Work across e-commerce sub-domains: orders, fulfilment, refunds, claims, and inventory management

• Participate in technical direction discussions and best practices across the Novicell group

• Contribute to group-wide architecture working groups and technical guilds

All our solutions are built on the MACH principle: Microservices, API-first, Cloud Native, and Headless. Frontend teams deliver the best possible UX on top of our underlying APIs, and the CMS never dictates the presentation layer.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years building production .NET solutions (C#, .NET 6/7/8+)

• Experience with e-commerce integrations: Commercetools, BigCommerce, or similar headless platforms

• Hands-on Azure experience: App Services, Functions, Storage, Service Bus, API Management

• Azure DevOps, build and release pipelines and branching strategies

• Familiarity with CMS platforms such as Umbraco or Contentful

• Ability to translate business requirements into well-structured technical solutions

• Experience in consultancy or stakeholder-facing roles is a plus

• Self-driven, takes ownership, and follows through

• Fluent English and strong communication skills are a must — you'll work daily with international teams and clients across different countries and cultures
