AWS DevOps Engineer (US-based)

Job Details: Job Location: Remote - Brentwood, TN, Salary Range: Undisclosed, AWS DevOps Engineer (US-based) About the Role We’re a small fintech startup building a secure SaaS platform in a regulated industry. We’re looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer to own and improve our cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, observability, and production operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who can balance reliability, security, developer experience, and cost in a growing environment. How We Work Small team with high ownership 100% remote Infrastructure and operational changes are reviewed as code Security and automated testing are part of every release Engineers document systems, decisions, and operational procedures AI-assisted development is part of our workflow, with appropriate privacy controls What You’ll Do Build and maintain secure, reliable AWS infrastructure using infrastructure as code Operate containerized production workloads and managed data services Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and environment promotion Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational dashboards Lead incident investigation and improve systems based on lessons learned Maintain backup, recovery, secrets-management, and access-control practices Automate repetitive operational work and improve developer workflows Support security, vulnerability-management, and compliance initiatives Collaborate with application engineers from development through production Qualifications: What We’re Looking For Must-Have 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or a similar role Strong production experience with AWS Experience operating containerized applications on AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS) Proficiency with infrastructure as code Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions Solid knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, monitoring, and secrets management Strong Docker, Linux, and shell-scripting skills Experience troubleshooting production systems Clear written communication and operational documentation skills US Citizen based in the United States Nice-to-Have AWS CDK and Python experience Experience with managed PostgreSQL databases Cloud security or zero-trust architecture experience Backup and disaster-recovery experience Software supply-chain and vulnerability-scanning experience Experience in fintech or another regulated industry Familiarity with SOC 2 or comparable compliance programs
