Title: Audio Production Assistant

Reports to:  Senior Audio Production Manager

General Description of Responsibilities: 

The Audio Production Assistant supports Crossway’s Audio Production Team in the production of audiobooks, audio Bibles, podcasts, and other audio projects. Primary responsibilities include serving as an initial quality-control reviewer for incoming recordings and productions, preparing manuscripts for audio production, and providing additional production support as needed. This position may be remote.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Review audio recordings and productions for quality and accuracy, using specialized software (e.g., Pozotron) and careful listening to identify errors, inconsistencies, or other issues requiring correction. Prepare and deliver clear correction reports to the Senior Audio Production Manager.
2. Assist in adapting manuscripts for audio production, helping ensure that written content translates effectively to an audio format. Develop appropriate solutions for content that does not naturally translate to audio (e.g., diagrams, charts, or other visual elements) in a way that is clear and helpful to listeners.
3. Prepare pronunciation lists and other pronunciation resources for narrators and authors according to established Audio Team guidelines.
4. When assigned, provide direction and coaching to narrators, helping them achieve a tone and presentation consistent with Crossway’s audio aesthetic and appropriate to the individual work.
5. As needed and as experience allows, assist with recording sessions and other aspects of audio production involving authors, narrators, or other contributors.
6. Provide production support to other members of Crossway’s Book & Audio Publishing team as needed, particularly in connection with the Crossway Podcast and other podcast series.
7. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Audio Production Manager.

Position Requirements:

• Enjoy high-quality audiobooks and/or podcasts
• Ability to hear spoken English clearly with or without assistive technology is required; the ability to comprehend spoken English fluently is required
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in audio production, specifically digital audio editing or live production is valuable.
• Experience in narration, live vocal performance, and/or directing of talent is a plus.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $18-21 per hour. The position provides a competitive salary based on previous work experience, education, acquired skills, and established relationships. The salary is commensurate with current standards for comparable positions and responsibilities within publishing and other leading not-for-profit ministries.
