Position Overview


The Assistant Quality Process Manager partners with project teams to strengthen quality processes, improve operational consistency, and drive continuous improvement through collaboration, field engagement, and practical, solution-oriented leadership.


The Assistant Quality Process Manager supports the Corporate Quality Director in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's quality processes and standards. This position serves as a technical resource to project teams by reviewing project-developed quality documentation, conducting field audits, evaluating the effectiveness of established processes, and identifying opportunities to improve quality, consistency, and operational execution.


Working collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, Commissioning, Safety, Procurement, and Project Management, the Assistant Quality Process Manager helps drive standardization, reduce rework, promote best practices, and ensure compliance with corporate standards, contract requirements, customer specifications, and applicable codes across all projects. This is a remote-based position requiring regular travel to project sites to perform audits, support project teams, conduct training, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.


Essential Functions


Project Support & Governance

  • Review project-developed work plans, inspection checklists, commissioning documentation, and other quality-related documents to verify compliance with corporate standards, contract requirements, customer specifications, and applicable codes. 
  • Assist project teams in interpreting contract requirements, project specifications, drawings, corporate standards, and applicable codes. 
  • Provide technical guidance and quality support to project teams throughout project execution. 
  • Assist with owner audits, internal audits, third-party audits, and project closeout documentation. 

Field Audits & Compliance

  • Conduct field audits to evaluate compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, contract documents, and applicable codes. 
  • Perform field observations to verify established processes, procedures, and quality standards are practical, effective, and consistently implemented.
  • Identify process gaps, recurring issues, and quality trends, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. 
  • Investigate quality-related issues, identify root causes, and develop effective corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve project execution and provide recommendations that enhance quality, consistency, efficiency, and overall project performance. 
  • Review construction methodologies, installation practices, and quality processes to identify opportunities for improvement before and during project execution. 

Quality Systems & Process Improvement

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of corporate quality standards, processes, procedures, and supporting documentation. 
  • Evaluate existing business processes and recommend improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency across projects. 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through lessons learned, root cause analysis, and implementation of best practices. 
  • Develop and monitor quality performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify organizational trends and opportunities for improvement. 

Training & Collaboration

  • Develop and deliver quality-related training for project teams, field personnel, and management. 
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Commissioning, Procurement, Safety, and Project Management to promote standardized processes and best practices. 
  • Participate in constructability reviews, lessons learned meetings, and other continuous improvement initiatives. 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Travel to project sites as required to support audits, training, process evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in construction, engineering, quality management, or a related industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, contract documents, applicable codes, and industry standards. 
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with craft personnel, project teams, clients, subcontractors, and executive leadership. 
  • Demonstrated confidence to respectfully challenge existing processes and provide recommendations that foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Outlook, and other business software. 
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities. 
  • Ability to travel nationally as required. 
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in utility-scale renewable energy, electrical construction, industrial construction, power generation, or other large-scale infrastructure projects. 
  • Experience conducting quality audits, investigations, and root cause analysis. 
  • Experience improving business processes, quality systems, procedures, or operational workflows. 
  • Experience reviewing work plans, inspection plans, commissioning documentation, and other construction quality documentation. 
  • Experience with construction management software.
  • Professional certifications such as CQE, CQM, Lean Six Sigma, PMP, NICET, NETA, or other relevant industry credentials are preferred. 

Working Conditions

  • This is a remote-based position requiring a dedicated home office and the ability to work independently while effectively supporting projects nationwide. 
  • Requires regular travel to project sites, customer locations, corporate offices, and other business-related meetings. Travel requirements will vary based on business and project needs. 
  • Ability to safely navigate active construction sites, including walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders and stairs, and working in varying weather conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). 
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer, participating in virtual meetings, reviewing technical documentation, and preparing reports. 
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. 
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel by automobile and commercial airline as required.

Location: Remote with Travel to Various U.S. Project Sites 


Full Time - Exempt Position 

Position requires working hours in excess of 40 hours per week based on operational needs. A rotation schedule is implemented to help offset additional hours. 


Salary Range: $100K-$135K
