Job DetailsPosition Type: Full-TimeWe are seeking an Associate Director of Award Management, who will be driven, organized, detail-oriented, and reliable. The Associate Director will report to the Deputy Director of Grants, Contracts, and Compliance (DD-GCC). The Associate Director’s mission is to effectively steward foundation, institution, and public sector relationships. They will work accordingly with staff from the Office of Finance and Operations, Development, and across the Council’s 16 Programs and Centers to achieve this end. Preference will be given to candidates with an understanding of the Atlantic Council’s work, financial oversight experience, and a belief in our mission.
This position is remote; candidates may work internationally. The Atlantic Council offers local market-competitive compensation packages commensurate with experience, education, organizational equity, and the position’s scope, with offers from $30,000 to $50,000 USD. Applications submitted by July 10, 2026 will be prioritized for consideration.
Job Responsibilities
Grant/Award Management
Conduct first-line review of Reporting shared mailbox and flag to the DD-GCC to requests requiring needed coordination, investigation, or urgent action. Respond to inquiries from programs and funders.
Support processing of award financial and narrative reports for all funder types, including public sector (US government and foreign government), foundation, and other institutions. This includes tracking deliverable due dates, coordinating across teams to finalize the reports and complete the Docusign reporting package, and (as applicable) submission.
Attend weekly public sector calls between the Grants team and the Development Team, as it becomes relevant.
Support subaward management.
Support annual Office of Management and Budget single audit and program audits.
Agreements
Review draft funding agreements for potential grant or contract management implications as well as associated budgets, escalate to the DD-GCC as needed.
Review Funding Activation Notices (FAN) for potential grant or contract management implications and identify relevant awards to DD-GCC. Input award reporting deliverables into Salesforce. Maintain opportunity tracker.
Track opportunities with upcoming end dates, checking for fund spend down and final financial and reporting actions, if not already indicated/clarified in Salesforce.
Review proposal budgets, as needed.
Tracking Of Special Projects
Meet with programs regularly and support oversight of large projects.
Facilitate monthly tracker updates to accurately reflect project statuses (financials, implementation, deliverables, etc.).
Financial Operations Support
Facilitate offline payments through bank wire transfer made outside of BILL.com.
Support development of training and resource guides.
Other financial, grants management, and revenue operations tasks, as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree OR more than four years of relevant finance, program management, and/or operations experience.
Moderate to advanced skills in Microsoft Suite, Salesforce, Sage Intacct, Monday.com, Google apps, and other regularly used apps.
Advanced English Skills.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience
Ability to work in a cross-cutting role across program, finance, and development teams.
Familiarity with fundraising CRM operations, experience with Salesforce strongly preferred.
Familiarity with navigating financial, accounting systems, and SharePoint to retrieve data.
Experience with developing and managing budgets.
Ability to understand, communicate, and apply financial policies and processes.
Demonstrated ability to assess operational needs, prioritize among competing needs, and align and move others toward agreed-upon goals.
Highly organized with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects simultaneously.
