* This position is contingent upon a future opening with Gunnison.
* This will be a part-time role, 20-30 hours per week.
Pay range: $72 - $80.75/hour
Strategic SME & Advisory Role
- Serve as the organization's SME for AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and emerging automation technologies
- Identify, evaluate, and implement AI solutions that improve cybersecurity, governance, compliance, and operational efficiency
Agent Architecture & Multi-Step Workflow Engineering
- Design multi-agent systems with reasoning, memory, planning, and tool-use capabilities that break goals into executable steps
- Engineer production-grade agent workflows with monitoring, error recovery, and fallback paths
Integration of Tools, APIs, Data Sources & Enterprise Systems
- Integrate agents with APIs, databases, enterprise systems, and cybersecurity/compliance tools (including A&A and audit processes)
- Design and maintain RAG pipelines — ingestion, chunking, embedding, indexing, and reranking — to ground outputs in accurate data and reduce hallucinations
Prompt Engineering & Reasoning Optimization
- Design, test, and optimize prompts and structured reasoning frameworks (e.g., Chain of Thought, ReAct) for consistent outputs
- Build and maintain reusable prompt libraries and evaluation processes
Solution Delivery: POCs to Production
- Lead AI proof-of-concepts, pilots, and production deployments, including testing and continuous improvement
- Convert manual or repetitive processes (SOPs, approvals, audits, reporting) into automated, AI-driven workflows
Memory & Process Optimization
- Build agent memory/context systems to track state across tasks
- Apply AI to reduce cycle time and manual rework, with measurable accuracy and efficiency metrics
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, automation, analytics, business transformation, or related fields.
- Experience implementing AI, Generative AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience with prompt engineering, workflow automation, and AI-enabled productivity solutions.
- Experience leading technology pilots, evaluations, or deployments.
- Experience developing technical documentation, presentations, and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Assurance, Data Analytics, Business Technology, or related field.
- One or more AI certifications.
Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Federal civilian agencies, HHS, CDC, or similar organizations.
- Experience with Archer, ServiceNow, Power Platform, Microsoft 365, or other GRC platforms.
- Experience supporting FISMA audits, security assessments, or compliance reviews.
- Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
- Security+
- Certified Authorization Professional (CAP).
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- AI Governance Professional (AIGP).
- Microsoft AI Fundamentals (AI-900).
- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).
The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
