Job Description:

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Architect. Designs and implements scalable solutions to integrate Noname Security’s product into the Akamai ecosystem, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Leads system-wide architectural changes, collaborating with multiple R&D teams to enhance scalability, reliability, and deployment efficiency. Oversees the design and development of critical integration components, facilitating seamless interoperability between Noname Security’s posture management and API security capabilities with Akamai’s infrastructure. Supports architectural decision-making, providing guidance on design patterns and aligning stakeholders on long-term platform strategies. Defines development guidelines and best practices, enabling consistency and efficiency across engineering teams. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the United States. AG1499

Required Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus FIVE (5) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. 

Alternatively, employer will accept no degree and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Must have experience in the following: analyzing security vulnerabilities arising out of cloud & infrastructure misconfigurations; automating systems for detecting infrastructure misconfigurations; tenant provisioning systems; distributed backend services; data migration-safe systems; optimizing large-scale PostgreSQL databases; distributed event-driven architecture; Python, Flask, and Typescript; REST APIs; Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure; and elastic load balancing.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $178,547-$263,600 /year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
