We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented UPS Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in UPS power systems and electrical infrastructure. Under the guidance of experienced technicians, the apprentice will assist in the maintenance and repair of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and related equipment.
Throughout the duration of the Apprentice Program (1 year), apprentices are required to reside within the Quad Cities Area comprised of Moline, Rock Island, Davenport region of NW Illinois.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the testing and repair of UPS systems and batteries
Perform routine maintenance and inspections under supervision
Support troubleshooting and repair of UPS systems and associated electrical components
Respond to emergency calls 24/7 when necessary
Learn to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Adhere to all safety programs and policies
Participate in on-the-job training and classroom instruction as required
Maintain and secure company tools and equipment

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Technical or vocational training in electrical or electronics is preferred
Basic understanding of electrical systems and safety practices
Mechanical aptitude
Proficient with hand and power tools
Displays a strong willingness to learn and grow
Can follow detailed instructions – Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Strive to complete all tasks with Zero Defects (ZD)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
Work in various environments (e.g., data centers, industrial sites)
Valid driver’s license with auto insurance
Computer literate
Able to perform basic operations on admin-related software
Well organized and able to work independently
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
Familiarity with battery systems, inverters, or power distribution equipment.
Experience using multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
