About the Role
This role involves managing end-to-end lease accounting in compliance with IFRS 16, including handling right-of-use (ROU) assets, lease liabilities, and related depreciation and interest calculations. The individual will work extensively with SAP REFX to maintain lease data, execute postings, and generate accurate financial reports, while also supporting month-end close activities through reconciliations, variance analysis, and contract reviews. Additionally, the role ensures adherence to audit requirements and internal controls, while maintaining data accuracy within the system and resolving any related issues. The position also supports system improvements and contributes to ongoing or upcoming S/4HANA migration initiatives, leveraging strong accounting knowledge, SAP expertise, and analytical skills
What You Will Do
- Handle end-to-end lease accounting as per IFRS 16
- Manage ROU assets, lease liabilities, depreciation & interest calculations
- Work on SAP REFX for lease data, postings, and reporting
- Perform month-end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Review lease contracts and ensure accurate accounting treatment
- Support audit requirements and internal compliance
SAP REFX System Management
- Execute and monitor lease accounting transactions in SAP REFX
- Maintain and update lease master data within the system
- Ensure accuracy of lease postings, schedules, and calculations
- Troubleshoot system-related issues and coordinate with IT for enhancements
- Support ongoing or upcoming S/4HANA migration activities
What You Need to Be Successful
- 6+ Years of experience in Lease accounting & IFRS
- Strong knowledge of IFRS 16 / Ind AS 116
- Hands-on experience in SAP REFX (end-user)
- Solid accounting, reconciliation, and reporting skills
- Good Excel and analytical capabilities
Bonus Points if You Have
- Bachelor’s/Master's degree /MBA/CA/CMA in Accounting & Finance
- IFRS certification / ACCA / CMA / CPA / CFA
- Working experience in SAP, S/4HANA, and/or a consolidation tool (OneStream) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work effectively across functional boundaries to deliver successful outcomes
- A transformation mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo
