Analyst- Journeyman

Job Summary:

Collects and synthesizes information into clear written products in support of the U.S. Coast Guard Office of Maritime Law Enforcement Policy and the Maritime Security and Fisheries Enforcement Report to Congress. Responsibilities include conducting open-source and agency-informed research, interviewing subject matter experts, accurately summarizing findings, analyzing complex information, producing practical recommendations, and appropriately handling sensitive interagency information.

Remote position. Proximity to DC metro area / USCGHQ preferred.

Education and Experience:

• Education - Bachelor’s degree in the natural sciences or related field.
• Experience - Minimum of 4–6 years of professional experience in maritime policy, research, and analysis. Expertise analyzing sources of information and producing clear written reports is required.

Essential Duties: 

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

• Knowledge of marine fisheries legislation, particularly the Maritime Security and Fisheries Enforcement Act.
• Knowledge of maritime policy, research, and analysis.
• Ability to conduct open-source and agency-informed research.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize information from multiple sources.
• Ability to interview subject matter experts and accurately summarize findings.
• Ability to analyze complex information and produce clear written reports.
• Technical review and writing skills.
• Ability to produce practical recommendations.
• Ability to appropriately handle sensitive interagency information.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly in written products

Salary: The projected pay range for this position is $48-58 hourly and is based on experience and contractual requirements. However, this is not a guarantee of salary.
