AI Summary

The analyst will monitor transactions and onchain activity while managing KYC/KYB reviews and suspicious activity reporting. They will also maintain compliance policies and assist in tuning monitoring rules and preparing for VASP licensing.

This is a remote position.

The role

You'll work directly with the CEO to build our core compliance processes. As we scale, you'll eventually work alongside a Head of Compliance.

What you'll do

  • Monitor transactions across bank rails and onchain activity, primarily on Stellar. Investigate alerts and document every decision.
  • Own manual KYC and KYB reviews, including failed verifications, enhanced due diligence, and high-risk customer cohorts.
  • Maintain case management with clear, defensible case notes, and prepare suspicious activity reports for review and submission/filing.
  • Maintain our AML/KYC policies, procedures, and customer risk assessment guidelines.
  • Help tune alerts and rules in our in-house monitoring dashboard.
  • Respond to partner due diligence requests and compliance questionnaires.
  • Support our preparation for any VASP registration/licensing.
  • Train customer support on red flags and escalation paths.

Requirements

Required Experience

  • 2-5 years in AML, KYC, or financial crime compliance at a cryptocurrency exchange, stablecoin company, fintech, or payments company
  • Hands-on transaction monitoring experience, including onchain investigations
  • Experience writing suspicious activity reports or equivalent escalations
  • Ability to draft clear policies and procedures, not just follow them
  • Comfort with ambiguity, speed, and imperfect data
  • Strong written English
  • Ability to work between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm US Eastern Time, regardless of country/time zone of residence.
  • Ability to travel to the US occasionally, as necessary.

Nice to have

  • CAMS, CCAS, or a similar certification
  • Experience with Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with FATF standards, including the Travel Rule, and with VASP regimes
  • Experience with the US regulatory environment
