We're scaling our slate across multiple genre verticals and need writers who can write addictive, binge-worthy stories.
About the role
We're looking for a Freelance Screenwriter to develop and write AI vertical micro-drama series for our library.
What you will do?
Develop original vertical-format series concepts and full series arcs (typically 20–60 short episodes) across one or more genres.
Write tightly structured episode scripts built around hooks, escalation, and cliffhangers - optimized for 60–120 second vertical episodes.
Translate genre conventions into vertical first storytelling principles.
Iterate quickly on feedback - pacing, retention curves, and hook performance.
Write with our AI production pipeline in mind, structuring scripts so they translate cleanly into generated scenes, dialogue, and voiceover.
Who you are?
Demonstrated writing ability across vertical narrative formats - you understand the difference between vertical storytelling and film/tv.
A strong instinct for hook and cliffhanger structure. You understand why people keep watching, and you can engineer it on purpose.
Genre fluency in at least one (ideally several) of: True Crime, Horror, Fantasy, Romantasy, Drama.
Comfort and curiosity around AI production tools: you can help bring your story to life by assisting our production team with feedback and craft insights.
High volume without sacrificing quality. Vertical drama lives and dies on consistency and pace.
Reliability and self-direction. As a freelancer, you'll own your output and hit your deadlines.
Nice to Have
Experience writing for AI or live-action vertical/short-form platforms
A portfolio in a specific vertical we're expanding - true crime, romantasy etc.
Experience in game narrative design
Experience with multi-agent or AI-assisted writing workflows
