About the Opportunity

The company is looking for a Japanese-speaking Developer Advocate to lead the technical relationship with developers integrating its trading API. This role combines software engineering, developer experience, and technical consulting, making it ideal for someone who enjoys writing code, solving complex integration challenges, and improving the overall developer journey.

Rather than focusing on account management or sales, this is a hands-on engineering position. The successful candidate will develop SDKs, sample applications, AI-powered developer tools, and technical documentation while acting as the primary technical contact for Japanese clients throughout the integration process.

This is a fully remote role, available on either a full-time or part-time basis for candidates located anywhere in Europe.

Requirements

Required Experience

• Native or near-native Japanese language skills, with the ability to confidently lead technical conversations, meetings, and written communication
  
• Strong software engineering background with hands-on experience building production applications and integrating APIs
  
• Practical understanding of trading products such as FX, CFDs, options, derivatives, or similar financial instruments
  
• Previous experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, Solutions Engineering, or another customer-facing technical role
  
• Experience using AI technologies to build developer tools, automate workflows, or improve engineering processes
  
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve integration issues independently
  

Nice to Have

• Experience working with real-time APIs and streaming technologies such as WebSockets or Server-Sent Events (SSE)
  
• Familiarity with technologies including .NET, REST APIs, or Lightstreamer
  
• Existing network within the Japanese fintech or trading developer community
  
• Professional English communication skills for day-to-day collaboration with an international engineering team
  

Key Responsibilities

Developer Success & Technical Support

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Japanese-speaking clients integrating the company's trading API
  
• Guide developers through onboarding, implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing technical support
  
• Investigate integration challenges by reviewing client code, reproducing issues, and implementing or recommending effective solutions
  

API Development & Developer Tools

• Build sample applications, SDKs, reusable code examples, and reference integrations that demonstrate best practices for using the API
  
• Develop AI-powered tools that improve internal workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance the developer experience
  
• Continuously identify opportunities to simplify integrations and improve developer productivity
  

Product Collaboration

• Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to communicate customer feedback and identify API enhancements
  
• Translate real-world developer challenges into product improvements and future roadmap initiatives
  
• Help shape a more intuitive and scalable developer ecosystem
  

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• Create and maintain clear, high-quality technical documentation, integration guides, tutorials, and code samples
  
• Improve self-service resources to reduce support effort and accelerate customer onboarding
