Role Overview

VSI Technologies is seeking an AI Developer II to design, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems, AI-powered products, and intelligent automation solutions while mentoring junior AI developers.

This role combines hands-on AI engineering with technical leadership. You will develop scalable AI solutions including LLM applications, AI automation systems, enterprise integrations, and AI-driven software products.

This is not a research or entry-level role. You will be responsible for delivering production AI systems and helping elevate the technical standards of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy AI/ML solutions and AI-powered applications in production environments
• Build LLM-based systems including RAG pipelines, embeddings, and prompt engineering
• Develop AI automation workflows, AI agents, and intelligent decision systems
• Build and manage data pipelines for training, inference, and monitoring
• Integrate AI systems with enterprise platforms using APIs and microservices
• Implement MLOps practices for model lifecycle, monitoring, and retraining
• Deploy AI workloads in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
• Mentor junior AI developers and review code and models
• Participate in architecture and technical design decisions

Required Skills

AI / Machine Learning

• ML model development and evaluation
• LLM systems (RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning)
• Model optimization and performance monitoring

Programming

• Advanced Python
• Frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn
• API development with FastAPI or Flask
• Strong SQL and data processing skills

AI Platforms & MLOps

• Experience with ML pipelines and experiment tracking
• Tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, or similar
• CI/CD for AI systems

Cloud & Infrastructure

• AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Docker and Kubernetes
• AI cloud platforms such as Azure OpenAI or AWS SageMaker

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 6+ years software development experience
• 4+ years hands-on AI/ML development
• Experience deploying production AI systems
• Experience mentoring junior developers
