Job Description
Clinical Ink is seeking an AI Data Engineer to join our Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Lab. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of robust data pipelines that support rapid prototyping of mobile health applications and device integrations. You will collaborate closely with mobile development, platform engineering, and data science teams to ensure prototype solutions are scalable and compatible with our existing AWS-based infrastructure and Snowflake data warehouses. This position is ideal for a data engineer excited by early-stage innovation and improving clinical trial research through connected technology. The AI Data Engineer's responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and maintain real-time and batch data pipelines using AWS services (e.g., S3).
- Ingest and normalize data from mobile apps, sensors, and connected health devices.
- Collaborate with platform teams to align proof-of-concept pipelines with enterprise data architecture standards.
- Ensure data pipelines meet privacy, security, and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GxP).
- Support data scientists and product teams with structured datasets for analysis and visualization.
- Automate deployment and monitoring of data workflows in a DevOps-friendly environment.
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge transfer, and rapid prototyping culture of the lab.
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in data engineering, preferably in digital health, healthcare, or sciences.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, Quicksight).
- Strong Python programming skills.
- ETL tool experience.
- Familiarity with data governance, access controls, and healthcare compliance.
- Experience with connected device data and wearables is a plus.
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
