The provider will deliver specialized, evidence-based psychotherapy and mental health support to mothers in the perinatal period. They will also participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning, conduct biopsychosocial assessments, and assist with care coordination.
The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences seeks a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join the interdisciplinary team in the Perinatal Mood Clinic. The LCSW/LPC embedded in the outpatient clinic will provide specialized, evidence-based psychotherapy services to support mothers during pregnancy and the postpartum period who are experiencing emotional or mental health challenges. Working with the interdisciplinary team, this LCSW/LPC will provide assessments and evaluations, individual and group therapy, psychoeducation, and care coordination to address the needs of this population.
Full-time virtual position with ambulatory therapy visits
Shift: M-F

Preferred Qualifications:
• At least two years of post-licensure clinical experience providing individual therapy services
• Experience working with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Demonstrated comfort with evidence-based interventions and skills
Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.
1) Administration
• Documents patient care in accordance with UVA University Medical Center policies and regulatory requirements
2) Professional
• Participates in treatment planning, care coordination, and advocates for patient preferences within the interdisciplinary team
3) Clinical
• Completes biopsychosocial assessments, diagnosis, and development of culturally competent, individualized treatment plans for patients
• Provides specialized mental health support to address the presenting concerns of this patient population
• Addresses mental health conditions and assists with navigating systems
4) Leadership
• Assists with treatment program development, as needed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited social work program required
Experience: 3 years’ experience post master’s required.
Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia (LCSW) or applicants with an active license from another state must obtain Virginia LCSW within 18 months of hire date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, standing/traveling or use of assistive and climbing (stairs, steps). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail, hear, speak, see, distinguish colors, read, ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The pay range for this role is $63,939.20 - $102,294.40 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
