The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Advanced Healthcare Solution Developer, you will provide software development capability across Solventum’s international healthcare solution portfolio, with primary focus on clinical coding solutions, including Solventum’s 360 Encompass. Most of your work will involve developing, maintaining, enhancing, and integrating clinical coding capabilities. The role may also support clinician-facing solutions, next-generation clinical coding tools, custom development, and advanced technical integrations where requirements exceed the standard scope of implementation engineering. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Developing clinical coding software solutions, with primary focus on 360 Encompass, and supporting related clinician-facing products, next-generation coding capabilities, regional requirements, custom development, and advanced integrations.
• Designing, developing, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining production-quality software features, components, tools, and workflows using established engineering practices.
• Leading selected design discussions, code reviews, technical analyses, and implementation planning while automating component and unit tests and improving software performance.
• Collaborating with software engineers, product owners, clinical analysts, implementation engineers, quality engineers, support teams, and other stakeholders to define, refine, and deliver required capabilities.
• Investigating and resolving escalated issues involving applications, interfaces, APIs, healthcare data exchange, data processing, and platform components while documenting technical behavior and sharing knowledge with peers.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution AND two (2) years of software development experience.

OR

• High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution AND six (6) years of software development experience.

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required: 

• Five (5) years of experience developing software using C#/.NET, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Five (5) years of programming in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Three (3) years experience with healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 v2.x, FHIR, APIs, or data exchange workflows, and troubleshooting issues across applications, integrations, data, or infrastructure components.
• Three (3) years experience developing, testing, and maintaining software used in a commercial, enterprise, healthcare, or customer-facing solution environment, with the ability to work independently on assigned features or components within a defined technical scope.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Full-stack web application development experience, including backend services, front-end user interfaces, web server configuration, operating system setup, and TypeScript or JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio, Git, Microsoft TFS, and Microsoft Windows operating system internals and APIs.
• Experience with hospital medical record systems or healthcare workflows such as clinical coding, grouping, editing, abstracting, reimbursement, or billing.
• Experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment, both independently and collaboratively with limited supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to prioritize work, meet predefined deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and work effectively with product, clinical, quality, support, and engineering stakeholders.

Applicable to Canadian Applicants. The expected compensation range for this position is $85,739 - $106,399 CAD, which reflects the anticipated base salary for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as a candidate’s experience, skills, training, and work location, in alignment with Canadian pay equity and pay transparency requirements. This role may also be eligible for additional compensation components (e.g., incentive programs) and a comprehensive suite of benefits available to employees in Canada.
