Viterbo University is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time teaching assignments. These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are on-going recruitments. Assignments may include day, evening and weekend courses and may be in -person, online or blended courses.

Applicants must meet the minimum educational requirements listed in order to be considered for adjunct positions. All decisions are made upon the discretion of the department. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements are not automatically accepted to teach at Viterbo.

The Viterbo DNP program is designed as a post-baccalaureate Adult-Gerontology and Family Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program of study leading to a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and a post-master's DNP Completion Program for current Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN). Viterbo University also offers a post-master's DNP Completion Program with initial AGNP or FNP preparation and a post-master's option for applicants who are not APRNs and wish to pursue advanced specialty practice at the aggregate/systems/organizational level.

Adjunct faculty provide clinical oversight and teaching in the post-baccalaureate and post-master's degree programs. Adjunct faculty serving as clinical practicum advisors should have active practice engagement.

Minimum Academic Qualifications:Must meet the requirements of Viterbo University, WI Board of Nursing, and national accrediting organizations including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Master's degree in Nursing, required; doctoral degree preferred
  • Valid nursing license in the practicing state required
  • National certification as an NP if applicable
  • Excellent written and/or oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills required

Teaching assignments may include online/blended delivery formats, clinical supervision or advisement for DNP projects.

Minimum Professional Experience: Maintains a currency in clinical practice through current/recent practice and/or ongoing professional reading/CEs.

**For adjunct pool positions, you will only be contacted in the event your academic and/or professional experiences are a match for an immediate adjunct need.

 

As staffing needs arise, our deans will review the pool and contact those applicants they are interested in interviewing. There are also times that adjunct faculty are needed to fill a last-minute void as well. Therefore, departments are better able to communicate their most recent teaching needs at the time of interviews.

As this is for a pool of applicants, it may take time before you hear anything. If a dean or chair of a department has already reached out to you to teach, please continue with the application process to confirm your interest.

Flexible schedule with remote as the primary option; on campus as needed. Fully remote workers must reside in California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, or Wisconsin.

Evening hours may be required to accommodate student schedules.
