Job DetailsJob Location: NORTH CHARLESTON, SC 29406 Adjunct Professor of Sociology Charleston Southern University Summary The Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology at Charleston Southern University invites applications for an adjunct position starting August 1, 2026. This is a non-tenure-track, part-time teaching position for fall, spring and/or summer semesters. We encourage candidates who wish to teach online and/or in person in Charleston, South Carolina to apply.  Responsibilities The adjunct instructor of Sociology will teach courses in the fall, spring and/or summer semesters as needed based on enrollment and expect to teach courses at all undergraduate levels both in-person or online. This position carries no service or research requirements, and it is paid on a per-credit-hour basis.  Application Process Candidates should complete the online application. Applicants with degrees in a closely related social science field and 18 graduate credit hours in Sociology. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching college-level introductory courses in Sociology as well as specialized classes in anthropology, social problems, and/or criminology.  Charleston Southern seeks candidates who are professing Christians and who are committed to excellence in teaching.
