Adjunct Instructor, Computer Information Technology (Temporary Part-Time)

Job Summary

Adjunct instructors to teach online courses within the Computer Information Technology (CIT) program.

Courses may include:

• CIT 170 – Database Fundamentals
• CIT 180 – Security Fundamentals
• CIT 144 – Python Programming I

These courses will be delivered in an online format utilizing the Blackboard Learning Management System.

Job Duties:

Position Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality instruction in assigned Computer Information Technology courses.
• Develop and maintain course content, assignments, assessments, and related instructional materials.
• Deliver instruction and facilitate student engagement through the Blackboard Learning Management System.
• Maintain accurate student records and submit required reports in accordance with college procedures.
• Provide timely feedback to students and support their academic success.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and program administrators.
• Adhere to all KCTCS and SKCTC policies and procedures.

For CIT 170 – Database Fundamentals
• Extensive experience with database technologies such as:
o Microsoft Access
o Microsoft SQL Server
o Other comparable database platforms and technologies

For CIT 180 – Security Fundamentals
• Background in computer security or cybersecurity.
• CompTIA Security+ certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with information security concepts, best practices, and security principles.

For CIT 144 – Python Programming I
• Extensive programming experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Python programming fundamentals.
• Experience teaching or mentoring programming students preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the subject area(s) being taught.
• Ability to effectively deliver instruction in an online learning environment.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional Skills Requested:

• Experience teaching in higher education, workforce training, or adult education.
• Working knowledge of the Blackboard Learning Management System.
• Experience developing and delivering online coursework.
• Familiarity with instructional technologies and online student engagement strategies.
