The adjunct faculty member is responsible for teaching graduate-level courses in the School Psychology program using various delivery formats. They must consult with program directors to develop and execute course content while adhering to faculty handbook guidelines.
Barry University’s Department of Counseling & School Psychology in the School of Mental Health provides a quality education in a caring environment for the adult student population. The Adjunct Faculty member will teach courses within the School Psychology master’s and specialist degree programs located on the main campus of Barry University in Miami. The School Psychology Program follows the scientist-practitioner model and is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists and is approved by the Florida Department of Education.
We are currently seeking adjunct faculty to add to our roster of contract faculty for assignments on an as-needed basis for the following Graduate Programs:
School Psychology (MS and SSP)
Courses are delivered in several formats, including face-to-face and online; terms are seven (summer courses) and 16 weeks in length (fall and spring).
Graduate courses meet once per week (Monday-Thursday) for three hours for the entire semester, with start times from 5:30 to 6:30.
Adjuncts are responsible for consulting with their respective Program Directors in the development and execution of the course, as well as additional responsibilities outlined in the faculty handbook
Minimum degree is a Specialist's degree in School Psychology; doctoral degree preferred.
Applied experience in the field is required.
Prior college-level teaching experience with an adult student population is preferred.
Applicants should be comfortable using computer technology appropriate for graduate-level university courses and professional scoring platforms used by school psychologists.
Please note – if teaching in any course that has remote sessions or if a course is designated as an online course – completion of Barry University’s Online Instructor training will be required.
