Job Summary

OPSPro specializes in providing small businesses and government contractors with compliance and operational support to include HR, Payroll, Accounting, Contracting, and IT. The Accounting Senior Lead position is a part-time, fully remote position. The Senior Accounting Lead position is responsible for a combination of GAAP accounting, government accounting, and the ability to manage complex projects within a fast-paced General Accounting environment. This position interacts with all levels in the accounting department as well as numerous other departments in the company and reports directly to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the integrity of the financial systems and the maintenance of accounts and records in areas as assets, liabilities, equity, income and expenses
  • Review and approve journal entries ensuring compliance in accordance with GAAP and DCAA regulations
  • Create journal entries for proper revenue recognition and cost adjustments/allocations
  • Oversee and perform month and quarter end closing activities, including journal entries and variance explanations
  • Ensure disbursements are within the approved amount and proper supporting documentation has been provided
  • Compile and analyze financial information to ensure adjustments and reclassification of costs are made in accordance with GAAP and DCAA regulations
  • Review and approve account reconciliations
  • Determine proper accounting for unusual or one-off transactions
  • Oversee and manage Chart of Account changes

 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years accounting experience
  • Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Federal Travel Regulations (FTR)
  • Knowledge of Contract Funding and Value Ceilings
  • Experience with handling multiple clients and direct client communication/interaction
  • Advanced MS Excel capabilities (Pivot tables, formulas, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Unanet, PROCAS Accounting & Time and Expense or Costpoint
  • Experience with PIEE (WAWF and MyInvoice), PLSC, TOS, IOL, WOI
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
