Manage full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of hospitality clients under US GAAP standards. Coordinate directly with clients to handle GL management, month-end closes, and identify process improvements.
The Role
We're looking for a sharp, reliable Accountant to join our growing Hospitality practice. In this role, you'll manage day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of hospitality clients — hotels, restaurants, and related businesses — operating under US GAAP standards. You'll be the person our clients count on to keep their books clean, their close on schedule, and their reporting accurate.
This is a high-ownership, client-facing role. You'll work independently, manage your own deadlines, and communicate directly with clients and internal stakeholders across time zones.
What You'll Do
- Own the full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of hospitality clients, including GL management, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
- Coordinate directly with clients to gather information, clarify transactions, and communicate results
- Identify and flag discrepancies, process gaps, or areas for improvement proactively
- Adapt quickly as client needs evolve — no two clients are the same
What We're Looking For
Must-haves
- 3+ years of accounting experience, with demonstrated ownership of a full close cycle
- Solid, working knowledge of US GAAP — you've applied it consistently, not just studied it
- Experience working with US-based clients or in a US-facing accounting environment
- Comfortable managing multiple client accounts or projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication in English — you'll interact directly with clients
- Self-directed and organized — you manage your own workload without needing micromanagement
- Proven ability to perform in fast-paced, high-volume environments where priorities shift
Nice to have
- Direct experience in hospitality accounting — hotels, restaurants, resorts, F&B operations
- Familiarity with hospitality-specific concepts: RevPAR, ADR, departmental P&Ls, tip reporting
- Experience at a multi-client firm, outsourced accounting provider, or CPA firm
- Exposure to ERP or property management system implementations
- CPA license or equivalent accounting certification
Why Howard Financial
- 100% remote — work from anywhere in LATAM or Europe, on a schedule that works for you
- Real variety: you'll work across multiple client relationships and industry verticals, not the same ledger forever
- A team that moves fast and gives you room to grow — promotions here are earned, not scheduled
- Collaborative, low-ego culture: we share knowledge, ask questions, and support each other
- Direct exposure to US business practices and clients across four distinct industries
