Your Responsibilities
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, payment platforms, credit cards and employee expenses for multiple client companies.
- Maintain cloud-based accounting records using Xero and supporting finance applications such as Dext, Telleroo, Ramp, Campfire and ApprovalMax.
- Manage the end-to-end purchase ledger process, including invoice processing, supplier queries and preparing payment runs for review.
- Support the sales ledger process, including raising invoices, monitoring outstanding debtors and assisting with credit control.
- Take ownership of assigned month-end tasks, ensuring reconciliations and supporting schedules are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including P&Ls, balance sheets and cash flow reports, together with variance analysis and supporting commentary.
- Support payroll processing and pension administration, ensuring information is complete, accurate and submitted within deadlines.
- Assist with VAT returns, statutory filings and compliance requirements across multiple clients.
- Help onboard new clients onto cloud accounting systems, ensuring accurate opening balances and efficient finance processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase automation and enhance the efficiency of recurring finance tasks.
- Maintain high-quality working papers and documentation to support scalable client delivery.
- Communicate professionally with clients, responding to queries promptly and building trusted working relationships.
- Work collaboratively with the wider client team to provide a joined-up finance service.
- Comply with the Organization's Information Security Management System (ISMS), including all applicable information security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Your Background
We’re looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, has excellent attention to detail, and genuinely cares about delivering high-quality service.
- 3+ years' experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Experience working with UK businesses (preferred).
- Experience using Xero and cloud-based finance systems.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals and month-end processes.
- Excellent reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence managing recurring responsibilities independently.
- A proactive mindset with a desire to continually improve processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable working remotely and managing their own workload.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues.
- An interest in AI, automation and using technology to improve finance processes would be advantageous.
