About the Role

The Accommodation Liaison serves as a designated resource to guide employees and managers through complex accommodation situations related to the ADA, PWFA, religious accommodations, and certain state-specific situations. For cases requiring a more individualized assessment, the Liaison facilitates the interactive process with the employee, helping clarify the nature of the requested accommodation, explaining the process and expectations, and exploring potential accommodations that would enable the employee to perform the essential functions of their role.

The Liaison documents key elements of these discussions and helps ensure the process remains collaborative, timely, and well-understood by all parties. Prior to engaging in this part of the interactive process, the Liaison may review the employee’s job description and relevant role requirements to ensure a clear understanding of essential job functions. Working within defined business rules, the Liaison may also be authorized to directly implement certain accommodations, such as approving limited work-from-home arrangements (e.g., up to two days per week), coordinating equipment procurement from an approved vendor list, or facilitating workspace adjustments such as changes in location or floor assignments.

The Accommodation Liaison works closely with the ADA Coach, the overall account manager, and, when appropriate, clinical resources to support consistent, compliant, and employee-centered accommodation outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Interactive Process Facilitation – For cases requiring individualized assessment, serve as the primary resource guiding employees and managers through the ADA, PWFA, religious accommodation, and select state-specific accommodation situations.  Clarify the nature of requested accommodations, explain process and expectations, and collaboratively explore options that enable the employee to perform the essential functions of their role.
  • Pre-Process Preparation – Prior to engaging in the interactive process, review the employee’s job description and relevant role requirements to ensure a clear understanding of essential job functions and the basis for accommodation assessment.
  • Direct Accommodation Implementation – Working within defined business rules, directly implement certain approved accommodation. Potential examples:
  • Approving limited work-from-home arrangements (e.g., up to two days per week)
  • Coordinating equipment procurement from an approved vendor list
  • Facilitating workspace adjustments such as changes in location or floor assignments
  • Documentation and System Entry – Document key elements of interactive process discussions to ensure the accommodation record is complete, accurate, and stored within the case management system.  Notes should reflect the collaborative, timely, and transparent nature of the process.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with the ADA Coach, the overall account manager, and, when appropriate, clinical resources to support consistent, compliant, and employee-centered accommodation outcomes.
