About the project 

As a Senior AEM Backend Developer, you will work closely with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to design and implement backend solutions in Java and Spring Boot on AWS, translating business requirements into high-quality, production-ready code. 

You will be part of a global delivery team, taking ownership of complex backend features, contributing to architectural decisions, and helping drive Agile best practices across the team. 

What you’ll do 

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot, following microservices architecture patterns. 

• Model and evolve relational data stores, write performant SQL, and manage schema migrations in production environments. 

• Design, build, and consume RESTful APIs, applying versioning, contract testing, and clear integration patterns. 

• Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot services on AWS, working with compute (EC2, ECS, EKS, or Lambda), managed databases (RDS), storage (S3), messaging (SQS, SNS), and observability tooling (CloudWatch). 

• Implement observability practices across services: structured logging, metrics, tracing, and actionable alerting. 

• Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor mid- and junior engineers on backend and cloud best practices. 

• Collaborate with architects to contribute to solution design decisions and technical documentation. 

• Debug, profile, and optimize performance at the service, database, and infrastructure level. 

• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and deployment automation. 

• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog refinement). 

• Communicate delivery status, technical risks, and blockers effectively to team leads and client stakeholders. 

What makes you a great fit 🎯 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

• 5+ Years of backend software engineering experience. 

• 3+ Years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud). 

• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 11 or later), with a solid understanding of the JVM, concurrency, and modern language features. 

• Proven experience designing, building, and operating microservices in production. 

• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalent), including data modelling, indexing, and query optimization. 

• Working experience with AWS core services in a production environment, including compute, managed databases, storage, and networking fundamentals. 

• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, integration patterns, and API lifecycle management. 

• Working knowledge of containerization (Docker) and at least one orchestration platform (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes). 

• Experience with Maven or Gradle build pipelines and dependency management. 

• Active use of AI coding tools as part of daily development workflow, particularly Claude Code, Windsurf, or equivalent. 

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments. 
• Advanced English Level is required for this role, as you will work with US clients. Effective communication in English is essential to deliver the best solutions to our clients and expand your horizons.
