This role involves contributing to the realization of advanced fission technology by applying engineering expertise in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment. Engineers are expected to propose novel and creative solutions to technical problems while maintaining high standards of detail and communication.

The engineer will be responsible for developing the licensing strategy and supporting the technical engineering work related to external hazards, including defining scopes of work and managing regulatory submittals. Key duties involve ensuring external hazard assessments are integrated into licensing strategy and design-basis evaluations, and tracking changes in NRC regulations.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design critical hardware for advanced fast reactors, ensuring performance and compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage the design process from concept to fabrication readiness.

The Regulatory Engineer will navigate the regulatory framework for licensing recycling and fuel fabrication facilities while participating in the engineering design of those technologies. Responsibilities include researching regulations, generating licensing documentation, and interfacing with technical staff.
